About the Scholarship

South Asian University (SAU), founded by the eight SAARC countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka), offers various scholarships for both SAARC and non-SAARC students. These scholarships are designed to assist students in their academic journey at SAU and include:

  • SAU PhD Scholarship
  • SAU Freeship with Stipend
  • SAU Freeship
The scholarships cover tuition fees (except for regional fees) and provide a stipend for living expenses. Once accepted, Master's students will pay tuition fees, but these will be reimbursed once the scholarships or freeships are officially granted.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following educational requirements based on their program:

  • For Master's Programs: Minimum of 15 years of education or a 4-year degree post-10+2 with 50% marks for M.A. programs and 55% for M.Sc. programs.
  • For Ph.D. Programs: A Bachelor's and Master's degree in the relevant field with 50% marks for Social Sciences and Law programs, and 55% for Science programs.

General Requirements:

  • Full-time students (no part-time jobs allowed).
  • Degree from a government-recognized institution.
  • Original certificates must be submitted at the time of admission.
  • Applicants awaiting final exam results can apply as long as they meet the minimum eligibility criteria.
